Our Story
Who are we?
¿Quiénes somos?
Born in Mexico City, it wasn't until Kurt´s family was invited to a Bible study in their neighborhood that he heard about having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Shortly after, his whole family became followers of Christ. As a young adult, Kurt was burdened to use his life to tell others about the same good news of Jesus, as he grew as a believer in his home church. He attended seminary in Mexico to become a pastor and has served in church plants in Queretaro, Mexico City, and currently Western Pennsylvania.
Bethany grew up in a Christian family where she was exposed to the Bible from a young age. In the teen years, her childhood profession of faith became a real confession of submitting her life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Through several missions' trips, Bethany acknowledged the Lord leading her life towards missions. College brought the opportunity to be a mission's intern in Mexico City. That was the time when God deeply burdened her heart for reaching Mexico. When Kurt & Bethany married (2009), they united this missional burden for Mexico.
Our Burden
Why Mexico?
¿Por qué México?
From 2011 on, we served in church-planting ministry in northern Mexico City along with our ABWE (Assocation of Baptist for World Evangelism) teammates. Our goal was to partner with Mexicans in planting autonomous, doctrinally sound churches. We worked in multiple church plants, helping to disciple new Christ followers and build up the local body of Christ.

Penetration
In 2014, we moved forward with church-planting in the city of Querétaro, located in the Bajio Central region of Mexico. This area is the fastest growing population-wise, due to heavy industrialization. It is the least evangelized part of Mexico, because it is heavily entrenched with syncretic traditionalism. We partnered with several local pastors and teammates in church-planting work.
In 2018, during our furlough, due to some difficulties with timing in obtaining Kurt's citizenship, we decided to take a leave of absence from the work in Mexico. During the past five years, Kurt has worked as associate pastor at First Baptist Church, of Grove City, PA, our sending church. While these have been years of growth, our burden has remained to return to Mexico. Why?
But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
Acts 20:24
Each visit back to Mexico reminds us of why we were called to live our lives for Christ there. While we have loved serving in the USA for a season, we cannot help but note that for every church in our town, there might be just one church for thousands in Mexico. For every trained pastor here, there might not be even one there.
Only 4% of Mexicans have a church that is teaching the gospel message of Jesus Christ. For every trained vocational pastor in the US, for every Bible college or seminary, Mexico boasts far fewer reachable opportunities for men and women to be trained and serve in their local churches.
Our family's life verse is Acts 20:24. The task God gave us is to use our spiritual gifts to reach back into a land that is full of traditional religiosity but nearly void of true relationship with Christ.
Being our family's other homeland-the very language and culture in which our hearts beat-we desire to return to Mexico to plant and grow Christ's church.

It is our JOY to partner with you in ministry through financial support. Just as the early church did for Paul, Silas, Barnabas, Timothy...we believe it is through the local church and God's people that we will be sustained to do the work of the gospel in Mexico. God already knows the team of churches, individuals, businesses, and platforms that will partner with us in this ministry. Will you consider financial partnership?
